Camera Shots, Angles and Composition
In my short film, camera shots, angles and composition were extremely significant. These aspects of filmmaking determine how much space the audience sees in a particular frame and how the camera is positioned. Therefore, shots and angles of a camera's viewpoint can impact the narrative, as well as the audience, in drastic ways.
Here are some of the examples from my own scenes and their effect:
Overall, the opening shot immerses the audience into the short film. This is done by using a tracking shot, which creates a relationship between the character and her surroundings - with the setting and its mise-en-scène conveying a child's room.
Additionally, the position of the camera can be seen to be slightly above Luna. This further aids in showcasing her vulnerability and how 'small' she feels in the situation.
After this scene, we see Luna stand up from the trapped position she is in and lead the narrative towards the resolution of the short film, where the conflict she finds herself in is resolved.
